Command line
stochos opens the grid, or the mode a flag names, and exits after one action.
Flags
| flag | what it does |
|---|---|
--bisect |
Opens in bisect mode. |
--hint |
Opens in hint mode. |
--free |
Opens in free mode, on the pointer. |
--free-center |
Opens in free mode, in the middle of the screen. |
--allow-multiple |
Opens even while another stochos is open. |
--print-default-config |
Prints the default config.toml and exits. |
Use one mode flag at most. Without one, stochos opens the grid. stochos --help lists the flags, and stochos --version prints the version.
A key per mode
Each mode flag can have its own binding. In Hyprland:
hyprland.conf
bind = SUPER, semicolon, exec, stochos
bind = SUPER SHIFT, semicolon, exec, stochos --hint
bind = SUPER CTRL, semicolon, exec, stochos --freeOne at a time
While it runs, stochos holds a lock on /tmp/stochos.lock. A second stochos started meanwhile prints App already running and exits, unless it has --allow-multiple.
Errors
stochos prints errors to stderr: a missing permission on macOS, no display server to connect to, a compositor without a protocol it needs. Run it from a terminal to see them.
