A first deck
Write three slides, present them, and change one while it's on screen.
Write the file
Make a file called talk.md. Each slide starts with front matter between two --- lines, and a ---- line ends the slide.
---
title: Hello
---
# Hello, kyma
A deck is one markdown file.
----
---
title: Why
transition: swipeLeft
---
## Why terminal slides
- They live in git, next to the code
- They open instantly
- They look like your terminal
----
---
title: Thanks
transition: fade
border: double
---
# ThanksPresent it
kyma talk.mdPress →, l or Space for the next slide and ← or h to go back. q quits.
The second slide swipes in from the right, because its front matter says swipeLeft. Going back from it plays the reverse, a swipe to the right. A transition belongs to the slide it brings in, and leaving that slide backwards undoes it. Going backwards has the details.
Edit it live
Leave kyma running and change a line in talk.md. When you save, the slide on screen updates and kyma stays on the slide you were on.
Give every slide the same look
Setting the same border and theme on every slide gets old. Put the shared style in a kyma.yaml next to where you run kyma:
global:
style:
border: rounded
theme: dracula
layout: center
transition: noneEach slide then starts from that style and overrides only what it sets. Configuration covers the file, and the named presets a slide can pick instead.
Next
- Transitions: all nine, and which way they play.
- Grids and master layouts: columns, and layouts you reuse.
- Presenting: every key, the palette and the timer.
